North Attleborough officially split off from Attleborough way back in 1887 on it’s way to becoming the place we know and love. However, as history would have it, Attleborough became a city in 1914 and officially shortened it’s name to Attleboro. If it was good enough for the city it was good enough for the town to be called North Attleboro. And so began the double life, officially North Attleborough but for simplicity’s sake North Attleboro!
